Q: When is the race happening?

A: Saturday February 23rd, 2019, go to for check-in and race times.


Q: Where is the race being held?

Q: What time do things get started? 

A: Depending on your race, see schedule below.  For those who have already pre-registered, you will receive an email before Feb 20th, with the heat you have been assigned to.

Q: What does it cost to participate?

A: Competitive and Fun race tickets are $60.00 (includes finale beer after the race, dinner and musical entertainment).



Q: Do you have to participate in a race to attend the event?

A: No you don’t.  We also have a “Dinner & Music only” ticket.  They are $35.00.



Q: Are skates included?

A: Racers have to bring their own ice skates. If you rent a room at Deerhurst Resort, skate rentals are included in your resort fees but sizes are limited, so best to bring your own if you have them.



Q: Are snowshoes included? 

A: Unfortunately not.  We did have a limited number of snowshoes available but they have all been spoken for.  Racers now need to arrange their own snowshoes if they don’t have their own. 



Q: Can I register for the race on the day of the event? 

A: Unfortunately not.  All racers must pre-register. Ticket sales close at 4pm Thursday February 21st. Deerhurst needs all of our numbers a couple of days in advance for food preparation. There will be NO event day tickets available online OR onsite.



Q: Can I bring guests?

A: Yes, you can!  The more the merrier!  However, your guests will need to purchase a “Dinner & Music only” ticket if they want to take part in the post-race celebrations (dinner and entertainment). These too will have to be purchased before Thursday the 21st at 4pm.


Q: Can I bring my friends without buying a ticket?

A: Yes, friends are welcome, but they will only be able cheer you on from the sidelines.  In order to get in close to the finish line or to participate in the post-event fun (dinner and entertainment), all guests need a ticket of some kind. For those who aren’t racing, the Dinner & Music only ticket is the perfect option for only $35!  But make sure you buy them before end of day Thursday, February 21st. There will be NO event day tickets available.


Q: What happens if the ice isn't safe to skate on?

A: If the ice isn't safe, we will augment the race for a slightly different format.

***Important Disclaimer: In the event of any unforeseen circumstances such as weather, natural disasters, etc... and The Muskoka Cup cannot operate the triathlon safety, if an alternative activity is provided and declined, there will be no compensation.



Q: What is included in the Dinner & Music tickets?

A: A delicious dinner from Deerhurst's kitchen will be served fom 5:30pm until 7pm, with 5 different food stations to choose from. See below for the menu or go to for the details.  Live music from Jamie Williams starts at 7:00pm



Q: Are there any vegetarian options with the dinner?

A: Yes there are, the full menu is just below.

Q: What are the menu options for dinner? 

A: Deerhurst has created a delicious comfort food menu, perfect for the Muskoka Cup and guaranteed to keep you warm.

  3. Vegetarian chili with rolls

  4. Selection of 4 freshly prepared salads

  5. Warm chocolate bread pudding with butterscotch

  6. and of course coffee and water



Q: Is there a cash bar at the event area? 

A: Yes, a cash bar will be open during registration, during the race down by the ice, and after the race.



Q: Is there live music during the event?

A: Yes, Jamie Williams takes the stage at 7pm just as dinner wraps up.



Q: What are any other choices besides beer?

A: Yes, there will be several other options for you to choose from.  



Q: How can I create my fundraising page? 

A: Set up your online donation page so you can raise money for the Music Therapy Trust Fund! There will be some great prizes for our top fundraisers!



Q: Can I donate at the event? 

A: Yes, aside from online donations, you can also bring cash or cheques made out to Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.



Q: Can I get a discount on a room at Deerhurst if I stay there? 

A: Yes, you can! Enter the promote code “MUSKOKACUP” when booking at Deerhurst Resort’s website.  We do regret to inform you that Saturday’s block of discounted rooms has already sold out, so regular rates will apply for the Saturday but our discount still applies for Friday night.
